Our life is nearly revolving around bees at the moment. If we are not treasure hunting or working with the tea, life is about the bees. Learning about them, how to keep them alive, how to keep them from swarming, there is so much to know, and the more we learn, the more we realize how little we know! But I'm loving it!
We bought a few more hives so we can try out these top bars that we inherited with the property as well as some traditional box hives. We have bees ordered for spring and hope to have 10 colonies by the end of summer. So far, we have healthy bees with brood, let's hope all the hives make it through winter!
Excuse the poor phone images, I hope to have the site filled with beautiful images soon! Just wait until you see this property in the spring!
Check back soon for new pictures and info on how the hives are doing and when products will become available! We hope to have some honey to sell this summer from our first hives that are several years old, but next year should be even better! However, I will have beeswax products available this spring such lip balm, lotions and soaps, ect. In the meantime, I'm excited to offer honey from Kriegerkeep bees, who have been helping me learn beekeping! We use their honey at home and it's fantastic!
Check out our booth in downtown Caldwell at The Heirloom House, where you can purchase honey, bee products and vintage goods!
